How Self-Service Terminals Are Quality-Checked Before Delivery
Before being shipped to the customer, every self-service terminal undergoes comprehensive quality control. The inspection covers not only the appearance of the device but also its mechanical components, electronic modules, software, and overall system performance.

Enclosure and Mechanics Inspection
The first stage is a detailed enclosure inspection. Specialists check the geometry of components, dimensional accuracy, weld quality, bending and coating, as well as the absence of scratches or other visible defects.
The mechanical parts are then tested, including doors, locks, gas springs, guides, slides, pull-out mechanisms, and gaps between components. Every element must operate smoothly and without excessive effort.
Component and Completeness Check
Before packaging, the terminal is checked to ensure that all required components, fasteners, cables, labels, and documentation are included.
This stage ensures that the customer receives a fully equipped device ready for installation and operation.
Hardware Testing
The next stage is testing all hardware modules installed in the terminal.
Depending on the configuration, the following components may be tested:
- printers and card readers;
- banknote acceptors and dispensers;
- scanners and NFC modules;
- cameras and speakers;
- touchscreens;
- system units;
- lighting and other components.
Each module undergoes an individual functional test.
Software Testing
Terminal quality control also includes comprehensive software testing. Specialists verify system startup, operating scenarios, interaction between hardware and software, server communication, updates, and error logs.
The terminal is also tested to ensure that it correctly restores normal operation after a restart.
Stress Testing
Before final acceptance, the equipment is tested under conditions that simulate real-life operation as closely as possible.
The terminal undergoes prolonged continuous operation, repeated transactions, door opening cycles, card dispensing, banknote acceptance and dispensing, touchscreen interactions, and other workload scenarios depending on its configuration.
Stress testing helps identify potential instability that may not appear during a short standard inspection.
Final Acceptance
Once all detected issues have been resolved, the terminal undergoes another complete inspection. Only after all systems and components have been verified is the device approved for packaging and shipment to the customer.
Quality control in manufacturing is not simply about finding defects. Its main purpose is to ensure that the customer never encounters them.
